The love of paddleing goes back a long way to the owner of kajakshop.hu, the writer of these lines.
Already in the mid-70s, I paddled a fishing boat with my grandfather. It was an honor to receive the paddle there. During our childhood years in Tokaj, it was natural that we constantly paddled and swam on the Bodrog, Tisza and flat waters.
The kayaking, canoeing was a natural part of life there. In the 1990s, we founded a canoe rental company in Tokaj, and from there we toured various paddling waters of the country, from the Tisza to the Rába. These were river years.
In 1999, I learned to whitewater kayak. This can only be cultivated abroad, so a series of expeditions followed.
We visited the wild waters of Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Montenegro, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Corsica, the Pyrenees, Slovenia, France, approx. 55 white water rivers. We founded a rafting company from this experience.
In connection with whitewater kayaking, we introduced the first rotary, unbreakable kayaks to the country.
This led to meeting and working together in 2001 with Europe's largest kayak company, RTM (with Rotomod https://www.rotomod.com ). Thanks to them, I got to know sitontop kayaks, which is probably the most self-absorbed form of kayaking, and I started going to kayak tests with them.
Thanks to their influence, I started sea kayaking, and thanks to them I paddled on many types of water, including at sea; Sardinia, Corsica and Venice, Gilio, Elba, northern Italy, southern France, all the Croatian islands in the Adriatic, all the islands of the Ionian Sea, Morocco, the Turkish Riviera, Cuba, the Aegean Sea.
With the same enthusiasm, I paddled Lake Balaton, Chiemsee, the Salzkammergut lakes, the Carinthian lakes or Lake Garda and the Polish lake region.
The expeditions continue today, for example, it is now a tradition that in October I organize the year-end meeting of Hungarian kayakers or the year-end sea tour on August 20.
I have had the opportunity to try a lot of kayaks in recent years, so I became friends with the DAG (French), PERCEPTION (American) Aquarius (Polish) and RIBER (English) kayak companies, for whom I also represent Hungary.
During the many kayak testing opportunities, I gained a river/sea/wildwater kayak user experience that is perhaps still rare in our country. I tested: RTM, Dag, Perception, Valley, Rainbow, Prijon, Aquarius, North Shore, Boreal, Necky, Delsyk, Riot, Big Dog, RIBER, Eskimo, Current Design, Waka, Winner, Tahe Marine, Wavesport, Geplo, Roto, Seaside, Robson, Bliss Stick, Wilderness, Nelo, Fluid kayaks.
I am happy to be at your disposal.
With this experience, I think I can effectively help you choose either family or recreational, or touring, sea or white water kayaks. Today, we organize weekends in Austria where we teach kayakers who are completely new to kayaking on 3 types of water (from flat water to white water) in 3 days. (see whitewaterrafting.hu)
Here, at kajakshop.hu, you can try out the kayaks.
Based on a discussion, we will go to the water individually with anyone to refine the choice. The test of the pudding is eating. You buy a kayak for life, and if you make the right choice, you also buy a lifestyle, which will become clear later. In short, to the question: DO YOU KAYAK TOO? Yes! WE ALSO! On rivers, at sea, white water, lakes.
Yours faithfully
Nagy Endre (Andrew)
